Megan Reedy, LMSW, PhD (ABD)– Owner & Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Grosse Ile, Plymouth, Virtual: Teens, Adults, Couples
Megan specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults, couples, and adolescents. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction or coping strategies, her work is depth-oriented, helping individuals understand the unconscious patterns that shape their thoughts, relationships, and emotional lives. Many of her patients seek psychoanalytic treatment after finding that previous therapeutic approaches did not provide the depth they were looking for. Through a process of speaking, thinking together, and careful interpretation, Megan helps patients explore aspects of themselves that have remained defended against or unexamined, allowing symptoms to be understood in terms of their function and creating opportunities for lasting change. Megan has completed doctoral-level psychodynamic coursework at the Chicago Institute for Clinical Social Work and is a PhD candidate (ABD). She continues her advanced psychoanalytic training through ongoing consultation and professional development.
Outside of the office, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, studying philosophy, hiking in national parks, being on the water, photography, and listening to records.
